Te Whanganui-a-Tara’s staple, Dillon Jo, have discovered vibrant chemistry since making quite a stir in Wellington, playing numerous shows including opening for The Rions, Foley, Wet Denim, Hemi Hemingway and Coast Arcade only to name a few.
Since their last dreamy blend of pop and anti-rock release ‘Jo’, they have been culminating their craft into a bigger sound of what is their new single ‘Good Person’.
Dillon Jo's fourth single is out June 12th and is a coming of age, relatable, alternative-rock ballad exploring the self-doubt and fear that can come from growing apart from people you once cared about. Through vulnerable moments and heavy distortion, it asks one lingering question: after all this time, do you still see me as a good person? The track merges melodic guitar with distorted, shoegaze tones while capturing the emotions of feminine rage, and yearning.

‘Jo’ is a joyful, playful WLW love song inspired by first love. Written by the band’s two lead singers when they were just 19 and living by the beach in Pōhara, New Zealand, the track captures the rush and tenderness of young romance. With a 2000s-inspired rock drum beat and catchy melodies, ‘Jo’ will be released on February 13, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Shiver was released 21st November 2025. Shiver is a song that’s sound transforms into different genres the more you listen. At the heart of Dillon Jo’s music they write singer songwriter ballads with a focus on harmonies and story telling. With the help of their new band, Dillon Jo’s sound hits you right in the chest. Shiver is a story about self discovery and not being afraid to write your own story. “I sold my broken mirror” being a metaphor for changing the way you think about yourself. Shiver is a song that needs to be heard.

Dillon Jo released their first debut single “it was you (she’s been waiting for)” on April 11th. This song was recorded in a basement studio in Nelson and as a one take with just guitar and vocals. This song is about falling in love for the first time. That meeting that one person changed the trajectory of your life for the better. This is a very raw authentic recording and as Dillon Jo progress in the Wellington community there will be many more songs to come.
